Thing # 7

All the google applications are great. I currently have an igoogle home page that sets as my screen when I get on the web. It has my email, quotes, recipes, newsfeeds, and a photograph from a beautiful place to visit. I also use the google calendar to communicate with my classroom parents. I can put events such as parent readers, PTA meetings, and other school activities. The parents have open access to this calendar and can view it by going to the site. The google alert is a neat feature to add to my plethora of google tools. I would be interested in following some friends blogs this way instead of just always checking. I am adding a photo from the Flickr-Color fields, you can also put a Category of colors and I chose "crayon box", these photo's have multiple colors in each picture instead of just one solid color.

Thing # 6

The mashups were very fun to explore. What a great idea with the trading cards, I would love to make one for each of my students, it would be very cute in a scrapbook for the end of the year. I also loved the mosaic maker, I am currently making one from my most previous trip to California. You can also make magazine covers, movie posters, and PUZZLES out of a photograph. I just love this idea!! The flickr mappr is also very exciting, it would be great with our first grade project of Flat Stanley to post our photographs on these maps.

Thing # 5 Flickr

Flickr is awesome, I have never been to this site and it would be great for showing pictures to my students of other countries. Especially for our cultural arts week you could find so many pictures to show your kids the culture. I found a photo of the 5 senses which is a big unit we do at the beginning of first grade. This photo I have posted would be great for kids to use their sense of sight to identify the different items in the photograph. Putting Flickr in my favorites for sure!
